. >> reporter: the group partnered with federal, state agents and the city of san francisco to gather the $30 million to renovate the building into veterans commons. >> weaver been at this since 1974, and it's very gratifying to have these resources. >> reporter: the units are equipped with a kitchen and bathroom, all ada approved. winston says veterans commons will an one-stop shop to veterans. they'll have ak toes to health care and wellness classes like cooking and yoga. >> i didn't expect it to look as nice as it does. living in san francisco, just having a place to live, that's a very important thing. once you have that, the stress level goes way down. >> reporter: winston says this falls in line with the goal of ending veteran homelessness. he believes that the right support, the time line can happen. >> it's a very ambitious goal but we're signed on, you know, we drank the kool-aid, the va is doing a great job and congress and the public has supported the resources necessary. >> reporter: the grand opening is expected later this month or in early december. but veterans will get
